Whiting & Davis
The Whiting and Davis Mesh Bag Company apparently started as just that, a mesh handbag company, that bought up its competitor, Mandalian, and eventually went on to make both mesh and non-mesh fashion jewelry. The company also made small mesh fashion accessories such as cigarette cases and the like. The non-mesh jewelry tends to be more tailored or perhaps less "feminine" in that the stones tend to be opaque art glass rather than rhinestone, colors tend to be darker, styles are more heavy looking and are usually larger. Mesh pieces include the well known and sought after snake bracelets and "kerchief" necklaces.

Description: Whiting and Davis Hematite Hinged Clamper Bracelet and Clip Earrings - Whiting and Davis designs seem to often be quite bold, and while this set is not sterling it does have some elements of Mexican and Scandanavian silver designs. Hobnailing and curling surround the prong set hematite cabochon in the center of the bracelet; side panels have an overlapping design with almost a Nouveau feel. 2 1/2" wide at the center, this is side-hinged. Earrings are even more straightforward and measure 1 1/2"x 1". Slight wear marks on inside and back of bracelet but otherwise in topnotch condition. Description: Whiting and Davis Faux Hematite Cabochon Earrings - These are part of a well known W&D design with a matching pendant necklace and cuff bracelet, so if you're looking for the earrings to match, look no further. While the plating on the back is somewhat scratched/worn (the flash camera makes this look much worse than in actuality), the fronts are in very good condition, with only a few slight scratches on one earring that can only be seen with extremely close observation. Description: Whiting and Davis Triple Coil Snake Bracelet in Silvertone Mesh - Of all the W&D pieces this design, originally done in both goldtone or silvertone, continues to be perenially popular. The three coil bracelets are the most desirable and this one is in excellent original condition. Whiting and Davis logo is on the back of the head. 1 and 3/4" wide and should fit most wrists.
