Sarah Coventry - Emmons
Both Sarah Coventry and its predecessor line, Emmons, were "home party" jewelry companies, i.e. the jewelry was sold at parties given in "hostess"'es homes. Sarah Coventry was widely sold in the 1950's and 1960's, with a replacement guarantee; thus the jewelry was well made and for the most part usually stands the test of time extremely well. It was relatively expensive for the time and usually tailored in design, aimed at the newly emerging market of working women in the US. Sarah Coventry has several different markings, including SARAH, Sarah Cov, and SC.
More recent Sarah Coventry was sold in Wal-Mart (while owned by Hefner Enterprises) and re-emerged, once again, as a home party line a few years ago. The company has now succombed and has closed.. All of the pieces here, I believe, are 1970's or earlier.

Description: Sarah Coventry "Versaille(sic)" Bracelet and Earrings Set with Original Box/Card -I am pleased to be able to offer a second identical set to SS1-370, this time with the earrings on the original card with the original box. Description: Sarah Coventry Fashion Flower Brooch & Earrings Set - One of SC's most popular sets because it uses red aurora borealis rhinestones, this light goldtone set uses a floral motif that is very three dimensional. Using curved filigree pieces as petals and centering the pieces with round siam AB rhinestones, each piece has a large stone in the center, and the brooch has a single stone accenting the open leaves. The brooch is 3 7/8" x 1 3/4" x 1/2+" deep. Earrings are 1 1/8" in diameter and about 1/2" deep (I believe these are the smaller of the two earring styles that match this design series). Description: Sarah Coventry Light of the East Brooch - Excellent condition and quality, this uses enameled oval "Morroccan" looking stones in navy, red, dark green and black (photo was taken with a flash camera, I don't think you'll find the colors to look garish in person). Description: Sarah Coventry "Pearl Elegance" Brooch - This stylized floral features a single, but very large, baroque glass pearl piece, that is surrounded by little floral pieces that act like a multi prong setting. Description: Sarah Coventry Blue Lagoon Brooch - From 1964, one of the most popular of SC collectors' pieces, I believe this was originally a hostess gift (could not be purchased by general public) and was often sold with a set of three earrings, one of could be inserted in the top of this brooch for a more 3 dimensional effect for evening wear. Inner row of sapphire blue rhinestones is surrounded by a second row of light sapphire rhinestones, and then all is bordered with irridescent blue navettes and a single round at the top. Silvertone (rhodium?) plating, all stones prong set, slightly domed. 2 1/2" x 1 5/8". Very good condition with just the slightest of aging to the light blue stones. Description: Sarah Coventry Sarah Coventry "Sultana" Set - This colorful set uses shiny and stippled goldtone finishes and is accented with purple, pink, aqua, and topaz colored rhinestones. This is in excellent condition; in the photos the shiny diamond, square, round and baguette shapes may look tarnished, but this is a reflection; in person you would find these to have no issues. Plating on original chain is a little worn and back of pendant shows wear at high spots, but other than being gently used I can find no flaw here. Chain is 16"; pendant is 2 1/4" x 1 1/4". Clip earrings are about 1 1/4" x 1". Earrings are marked Sarah Cov and Pat. Pend. Necklace is marked Sarah Cov with copyright symbol. 1960's. The necklace had a little bit of makeup on the pendant that I didn't see until after I took the picture (original owner was a Luzier's consultant) but it has been successfully removed. Description: Sarah Coventry "Nature's Choice" Earrings - Done in silvertone and goldtone, (with a more marked difference between the two in person) these clip earrings are in excellent shape and the design is lovely (in fact I have seen a Boucher design that is almost identical to this except I believe there are rhinestones on the center vein.) About 1 1/4" x 1". If two-tone pieces are your "thang" this would be an excellent addition to your wardrobe. I don't normally carry the plainer pieces of SC but these are too nice to pass up. Description: Sarah Coventry "Celebrity" Bracelet and Earrings - This, apparently, was something never available to the general public, but was available for purchase to people who hosted SC jewelry parties in the 1960's. (Matching pin/pendant also available.) Huge 18mm x 25mm unfoiled black diamond square octagons are framed in black diamond rhinestone set silvertone frames. 5 link bracelet is 7 1/4" x a whopping 1 1/2" wide, fancy foldover clasp and safety chain. Description: Sarah Coventry "Operetta" Bracelet - This is top of the line Sarah with black glass? cabochons, clear rhinestones, rhodium plating!!, a safety chain and foldover clasp. Description: Sarah Coventry Versaille(sic)s Bracelet and Earrings Set- Probably the most sought after and desirable of all the SC pieces; I have been told that this set was only available to employees and hostesses and was not available to the general public for purchase but I have not been able to confirm this. Both pieces are done with a bi-colored stone that is a yellow body with a blue-green stripe in the center and surrounded with a goldtone twisted rope frame. Bracelet is a side-hinged clamper with a maple leaf? design on either side of stone over an embossed ground; design goes all the way around. 1 1/2 inches at widest point. Clip earrings are about 1" in diameter. As with almost ever SC piece we have had, in excellent condition with only some wear to the interior of the bracelet. Exterior is excellent. I am not sure that the safety chain is original but it is what came with the bracelet. The original carding for this product said "Versaille" rather than the correct "Versailles". Description: Emmons Demi Parure in Glass Pearls and Rhinestones - Emmons was apparently the forerunner of Sarah Coventry and was also sold in a home party format. This is a lovely, flattering set that was not found all together but at three separate times! All three pieces marked Emmons, with the earring using the same type of clip mechanism that became ubiquitous for Sarah Coventry. Necklace is adjustable up to 20" and has the script E under a crown hangtag that is marked on the reverse Emmons. Earrings are 1 1/4" x 7/8"; bracelet is 7" with a foldover clasp. Pearls on the bracelet are slightly scuffed at high points, while other pieces appear excellent. Oddly, all the findings on all three pieces appear to be a darker gold than the goldtone on the actual design - I'm not certain if these have just aged differently or whether Emmons decided to use findings that didn't match! Description: Sarah Coventry "Song of India" Brooch and Earring Set - One of SC's most interesting and colorful sets. This uses a pinwheel stone design over a wreath or circle setting, using turquoise colored ballotini, fuchsia/ruby (raspberry red) and Montana (navy) blue rhinestones on a goldtone setting. Because this design did not use any pronging they are usually found with at least a few of the ballotini missing, and these were no exception. I have replaced with as close a size/color match as I could obtain. Brooch is about 1 1/2" in diameter, earrings are clip and about 1" in diameter. Little "do-nuts" in the spaces between stones are excess glue from original manufacture.

Description: Sarah Coventry Fashion Parade Necklace and Earring Set - Pendant style necklace and matching earrings - pendant is unusual in that it has it's own jump ring so it can be detached from the chain (perhaps originally on a different chain???) 18" goldtone curb-type chain has Sarah Coventry metal hang tag. Clip earrings use smaller baroque type glass pearl; one pearl has a small ding in the pearlesence on the back underside where it does not show. Description: Sarah Coventry Maltese Cross Design Pendant Necklace - I have tried to find the exact pattern name for this design and recently found information suggesting it was called "Starburst", though SC also used this name for a different design. Frosted goldtone type setting with dark brown round rhinestones and a color that seems to be halfway in between jonquil and peridot-a yellow green that perhaps we can describe as light celery green. Very pretty glass faux opal has a mix of pinks, purple, yellow and a little green, which is enhanced with a frame set with pink, purple and olive green rhinestones.
