Mazer-Jomaz
The Mazer family moved to the US from Russia; there were 7 sons in the family. Exactly how many of the sons entered the jewelry business and/or worked in the Mazer family business is not known to this writer, but the company was originally known as "Mazer Brothers" with the signature used usually being Mazer Bros. Eventually Joseph Mazer went on to open a separate company and the logo was eventually shortened to Jomaz. The company was run by Joseph Mazer's son in the 1950's and 60's, and after his death run for a short time by his widow.
Regardless of the mark, almost anything with the Mazer/Mazer Bros./Jomaz signature is a piece of beautiful design and quality.

Description: Jomaz Brooch with Jonquil, Lime and Faux Alexandrite Rhinestones - Popular in the 1960's, this piece uses the color change square rhinestones that go from light blue to lavender when you go from fluorescent to incandescent lighting, also lime green rhinestone squares and jonquil yellow pear rhinestones. The clear pave rhinestones used on the "swirl" have darkened and could be replaced if that bothered you, but this is otherwise in excellent original condition. Description: Jomaz Clear Rhinestone Scalloped Link Necklace - What may look like black on your monitor is actually reflection - this is actually pristine rhodium plate, set with tiny clear rhinestones; pattern goes completely around and has a hidden foldover clasp that is slightly larger than the rhinestone set connector links you see in the picture. Heavy rhodium plate, excellent quality. Small solder repair at clasp. This is a small necklace, hard to measure because of the curved center motif, but this should fit a 14" neck. Description: Jomaz Spiral Bracelet - This hinged oval bangle is done in a matte goldtone finish and is set with small clear glass rhinestones, all original, on the top side. Lower side is somewhat worn on the raised part of the spirals, but would not be noticeable when worn. Inner measurement of bracelet is 2.25" x 1.75" and measures 6.5". Description: Mazer Swirl Brooch-Pendant - A truly exceptional piece just feels different. This lovely design is done with two sizes of round clear rhinestones, clear baguettes, tapered baguettes and cushion-cut square rhinestones, and finished in heavy rhodium plate. All stones are original, two pave rhinestones are missing and I will replace if you would prefer, though I would recommend leaving as is. Slight darkening on a few of the pave stones, and one of the cushion cut squares has yellowed slightly. Can be worn as a brooch or added to a chain as a pendant (self-bail on reverse). 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" at widest points and is 3-D. From my personal collection. Description: Jomaz Goldtone/Silvertone Floral Brooch - Done with a fine jewelry look using a matte goldtone for the main part of the flower and silvertone setting for the pave rhinestone leaves and floral center. Stems are a shiny goldtone. Almost 2" x 1 1/4"; stones have yellowed/darkened somewhat over the years but still have plenty of sparkle. All appears to be original. Very tiny amount of plating loss on back of one stem (see backside picture). What appears to be pitting on back of flower is a reflection and NOT there in person. Item: SP3-492 Price: $67.50 US |

Description: Mazer Clear Rhinestone Floral Brooch with Open Design - This cut-out design is absolutely beautiful, a testament to why Mazer is such a sought-after vintage line. Rhodium plated, 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" with a 3 dimensional floral "head". All stones appear to be original; as typical a few stones have darkened but this doesn't detract.
