DeLizza & Elster, Inc. began in 1947 and were in business until 1990. They produced jewelry for many well known (Weiss, Sarah Coventry, Kenneth Jay Lane) and not so well known (Tara, Gloria, Madelaine, Celebrity) companies as well as selling under their own name(s). One line, known as Juliana, was only in production for a few years but the look has become known as "Juliana style". While D&E's own manufactured jewelry was unsigned, in general there are ways of identifying pieces as genuine D&E by findings and style; however this is still an evolving identification, and some pieces may look like D&E and NOT be, vice versa some may not look like D&E and MAY be. The pieces on this page are confirmed pieces; the "maybes" are sprinkled around the unsigned section and you will probably want to browse the entire section.

Description: DeLizza and Elster Juliana Grand Parure in Blue and White Givre with Rose Pink Rhinestones - Necklace, bracelet, earrings and brooch. Well known D&E style and components, perfect for anytime you are in the mood for pastels. Necklace is adjustable hook, 15", about 1" wide; bracelet is 7 1/4" x 1"; clip earrings are 1 1/4" x 1"; brooch is 2 3/4" in diameter and designed to be worn with points at N-S-E-W. Hook on clasp appears to be a replacement and brooch came missing one blue givre navette; we were fortunate to have a friend who had the correct stone. Otherwise all excellent original condition. Description: DeLizza and Elster Black RS and Filigree Ball Earrings - I believe these are identical to the earrings directly above, just with different color stones. What looks like a scratch on the left marquise is ? not there, must have been a piece of fuzz...Excellent condition, 1 1/8" x 3/4" . Description: DeLizza and Elster aka Juliana Smoked Topaz and Aurora Borealis Rhinestone Earrings - All prong set and much more dynamic and sparkly than my picture indicates - these match a wonderful bracelet that I have seen (as well, I am sure, as a necklace and brooch). The dark brown rhinestones are a very rich looking contrast to the cool of the aurora borealis. Goldtone setting, donut hole clip. Florettes are rivet set into a closed back setting. Description: DeLizza and Elster Black and Clear Rhinestone Earrings - A known D&E design, done with a black square glass stone in the center and three clear rhinestones on either of two sides. Silvertone, all prong set. Very early D&E had a flat tab type clip finding; apparently someone took off part of the finding and converted these to pierced, but the original "tab" is still very much there. Description: DeLizza and Elster Hinged Clamper - Done with squared goldtone frame base, this piece features deep purple rhinestones covered with filigree leaves, separated by prong set clear aurora borealis stones. Symmetrical design follows a 1-2-2-3-3 stone pattern on each half. Standard clamper size, with widest area at front about 1 1/8" wide. Strong hinge fits nicely. Description: Japanned Brooch & Earring Set with Fuchsia/Olivine/Pink/Black Rhinestones - I am almost certain this is DeLizza and Elster aka Juliana but I have not yet had it verified. Unfoiled olive green, pink and fuchsia marquises surround a black rhinestone center made up of a large round bordered by small black rounds. Larger rounds in pink connect the marquises on the outer row; most of these rounds have darkened a little. The earrings have black, pink and olive skinny marquises and fuchsia and pink regular marquises, all atop of a black round. All stones are pronged; earrings have the 3 hole finding used by D&E. Brooch is 2 1/8" in diameter, earrings are 1 3/8" x 5/8". Other than the noted darkening these are in excellent condition. Item: US1-522 Price: $85.00/set US |
