Hollycraft

Originally known as The Hollywood Jewelry Company, Hollycraft sold under their own name and also manufactured for several other companies, including Weiss and Pakula. Hollycraft is one of the few companies that, at least in the 1950's, dated their jewelry with the year of manufacture. Known for a distinctive mix of small stones and particularly sought after for their pastel combinations and Christmas tree brooches, Hollycraft remains one of my favorite brands. Hollycraft ceased production in the late 1970's.

Description: Hollycraft Copr. 1952 Pendant Necklace - Done with smoky topaz cupcake rivoli stones and smoky topaz rhinestones, this goldtone necklace is all original, including the often used rhinestones flanking the foldover clasp. The chain area measures about 21 1/2", with the dangling pendant about 1 7/8" x 1 1/4". Pendant is set with three large and one small rivoli, with a number of chatons on both the upper and lower parts. Description: Victorian Revival Style Earrings - Chandelier type dangle earrings from the 1940's, with screwback findings. Light goldtone setting, with lots of aqua rhinestones and three sizes of cream colored glass pearls. 1 1/2" x 3/4". Other than plating wear where the dangling part rubs on the connecting ring, everything is in excellent condition. These go nicely with necklace UN5-767. The lovely Joyce Chorbajian, daughter of Hollycraft owner Joseph Chorbajian, was kind enough to tell me that these are, indeed, unsigned Hollycraft earrings.

Stones are prong set, with openback settings for the pears. Silvertone, probably rhodium, plate, and very sparkly. Excellent condition, 3/4" in diameter.

Description: Hollycraft 1952 Red Rhinestone Plume Brooch - Top quality example of why Hollycraft is avidly collected. 2 1/4" x 1 3/4" with a mellowed goldtone finish, this uses red navettes and rounds to create a 3-dimensional design with loops and swirls. Excellent original condition, marked Hollycraft and copr. 1952

Item: SP4-759

Price: $120.00 US

Description: Hollycraft Japanned Dangle Earrings with Clear Rhinestones - I guess the title about sums these up! Clip earrings use a "fleurette" at both the top and the center of the earring, with leaves at the bottom, all paste set with clear stones. Top to bottom measurement 1 3/8" by 1" at widest point. Hollycraft mark is somewhat difficult to read but perhaps you can see it in the picture at the bottom of the fleurette on the dangle portion. No year given so these are probably 1960's.

Description: Hollycraft 1950 Multi Pastel Rhinestone Brooch - Of all the lines of jewelry that Hollycraft produced there are probably no more sought after pieces than the multi pastel pieces. This uses pink, aqua, mint green and intense yellow stones, with a large faux alexandrite oval in the center - this looks lavender in some lights and light blue in others. Goldtone setting, 1 1/8" x 7/8". Excellent condition. Signed Hollycraft in a horseshoe plaque on one side and copr.1950 on the other.

Description: Hollycraft 1954 Earrings with Arumed Rhinestones - Apparently for a short period of time Hollycraft produced pieces for themselves and for Weiss using arum (gold metallic) rhinestones set in goldtone metal. This produces a very lovely, subtle effect of sparkle without glitz. Clip mechanisms, about 1" x 5/8".

Item: SE4-203

Price: $27.50 US

Description: Hollycraft Clear Rhinestone Earrings - Actually I have seen very little clear rhinestone Hollycraft! These certainly exhibit all the design quality and craftsmanship that you find in any colored rhinestone piece. The clip earrings are 1" x 3/4" and are silvertone and quite dimensional. All stones appear to be original and only the marquises exhibit a very slight yellowing. Nice quality and excellent condition.
