Hattie Carnegie
Hattie Carnegie emigrated from Austria to the United States as a small child and chose to change her name from Kanengeiser to Carnegie because it sounded "successful" (from industrialist Andrew Carnegie). After various jobs as a teenager, she began her design career making hats, and eventually went on to become one of the most prominent and award-winning clothing designers of her time. A shrewd entrenpreneur, Hattie also went on to produce her own perfume, jewelry, and other accessories. She mentored many rising designers and was truly a woman ahead of her time.

Description: Hattie Carnegie Mesh/Rhinestone Waterfall Necklace & Earring Set - Seen on other site for over 2x what we have priced it at, this iconic set is both versatile and extremely flattering on. Excellent original condition, with dangling foxtail chain culminating in clear rhinestones. Clip earrings are about 1 3/4" x 3/8" at longest points. Necklace is 16" with 2 1/2" dangles and spring ring clasp - this could be extended with a chain if desired. Pictured in at least one jewelry book, there is apparently another variation of the earrings and a matching brooch (and I am betting a bracelet as well.) Description: Hattie Carnegie "Press and Glow" Light Up Tree in Original Box - One of the ultimate finds for a tree collector and for those who love Hattie. I do not know whether this will work or not as I have not been able to find the correct battery; I am assuming the original battery would have been a hearing aid battery?? Anyway an added plus is the original presentation box, and all appear to be in excellent condition. Pin that holds the cover to the battery shut is a little loose but could be adjusted once you find the correct battery. Item: SP12-415 Price: $125.00 US ![]() |
